Waterfall & Old Dam

Butte Falls, Oregon

The tiny city of Butte Falls, Oregon is entirely surrounded by a fence — to keep the cows out. A short ways down the single-lane Falls Road leads to a wide waterfall in Big Butte Creek. A few small trails offer nearby exploration. Downstream one can find the remnants of an old decomissioned dam. Be cautious of poison oak along the trail, recognized by it's oily, spiky leaves.
